About Liberal Patriot Democrats
The Liberal Patriot Democrats are a civic democratic coalition dedicated to strengthening citizenship, renewing democratic life, and fostering a culture of participation, responsibility, and service.
We believe that democracy is strongest when citizens are actively engaged in shaping the future of their communities, when power remains close to the people, and when public institutions earn trust through accountability, responsiveness, and effective service.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our work is grounded in a simple conviction: political parties do not ultimately define the people who belong to them. Rather, people define the character, direction, and future of the political institutions they choose to participate in. Democratic renewal begins not with organizations, campaigns, or elected officials, but with citizens who are willing to think, engage, lead, and serve.
WHY WE EXIST
The Liberal Patriot Democrats exist to provide a civic space where those conversations can occur. We are not a campaign organization, political action committee, or official party entity. We do not endorse candidates, coordinate electoral activity, or operate within the structures of political campaigns. Instead, we serve as an independent civic community dedicated to leadership development, policy discussion, democratic participation, and the exploration of ideas that strengthen both our communities and our nation.

We believe there is a vital need for a political culture that brings together liberal democratic principles and a shared commitment to the American civic tradition. We reject the false choice between individual liberty and national solidarity, between local communities and national purpose, or between democratic reform and civic responsibility. We believe these principles reinforce one another and are essential to the long-term health of a free society.
WHY THE NAME MATTERS
The name Liberal Patriot Democrats reflects this belief. We are liberal in our commitment to constitutional government, equal citizenship, individual rights, tolerance, pluralism, and democratic self-government. We are patriotic in our belief that citizenship carries responsibilities as well as rights and that Americans are united by shared civic values and a common commitment to democratic institutions. We are Democrats because we seek to contribute to and strengthen a political tradition that has long advanced democratic participation, opportunity, and constitutional government in American life.
OUR PURPOSE

We believe that democracy belongs to the people, that citizenship requires participation, and that the future of our political institutions will ultimately be shaped by the character, commitment, and civic responsibility of those who choose to engage in them.
